I am pretty sure that this is all working properly now on Raspbian Stretch. CH340 is a USB to TTL serial converter chip which is included in a number of development boards like Arduino NANO, Arduino MEGA, ESP8266 NodeMCU V3 and. While using Arduino IDE a pop-up appeared offering updates for the installed libraries so I have updated these. I changed both delay files to 500 as I found the change in the flash rate easier to see. Blink is preinstalled and is a read only file. Instead of the steady on-off, one of the cycles will be half as long Change one of the delay(1000) lines to delay(500) and upload again. Most Arduinos come flashed with Blink out the box, so it's probably blinking from the start, then there's a mess of other LEDs blinking while the programs uploads, then the same LED will flash at the same frequency when your copy of Blink has loaded. I think I'm beginning to get somewhere with it know. I'm no sure how I would know blink was working as when this board is switched on the ON LED lights solid red and the L LED flashes red. Distinction between working in several arduino-compatible imitations is not implemented. These motorists will require to be set up whn making use of any of the hobby parts products detailed below.

I decided to remove the install by running uninstall.sh. It ran once but would not run again giving an output telling me I was trying to run arduino from the wrong directory. I then ran arduino from this directory in a terminal. I put the directory formed from unziping the zipfile into /home/pi/arduino and then ran install.sh in a terminal. I purged the version of Arduino IDE I had installed and reinstalled using your first method. Running ls -l /dev/ttyUSB* gave /dev/ttyUSB0 so it looked as if my board was being detected. Running lusb gives the output you suggested. Yes, but have not updated/upgraded for a couple of weeks so just done that. "Are you running current Raspbian Stretch"

Could anybody point me in the direction of an already compiled driver for Raspian or give me instructions on how to do his for myself. Any compiling I've tried in the past came with a script which did it for me. However, this is where my problem starts as it would need to be compiled. There are linux drivers available on the net like this one. I have a copy of Win XP and this driver appears to work with this but for security reasons I'd rather not use XP. The seller provides a windows driver here. I can download and install Arduino IDE and this appears to run OK, however, having read a bit about this on the net my clone uses an on-board CH340 usb - serial converter chip which needs a different driver. I would like to be able to access it from my Rasp Pi 3B+. I bought UNO R3 ATmega328P Development Board clone from Banggood. I think I've got it in the correct place but if not perhaps a moderator would be good enough to move it for me.
